Who is Vanessa Kruze?

As Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kruze Consulting, Vanessa Kruze leads the specialized teams that have provided expert tax, accounting, and financial advisory to more than 2,000 venture-backed startups over the last 14 years. With two decades of experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), she specializes in high-stakes Startup Due Diligence and M&A Advisory, Research and Development (R&D) tax credit qualification, and corporate tax compliance. Her strategic direction equips early-stage to Series C founders with modern, technology-driven financial infrastructure designed to withstand institutional investor scrutiny.

Credentials and Education

Experience

As the founder of Kruze Consulting for the last 14 years, I lead the firm as CEO and set its direction. My work centers on identifying opportunities that move the firm forward, supporting the accountants and finance professionals who serve our clients, and personally leading high-stakes due diligence and M&A engagements where a founder's raise or exit is at stake.

Startup tax is where I started, and it remains the foundation everything else is built on. Preparing Form 1120 corporate returns and the R&D tax credit studies behind them means understanding how a venture-backed startup is built, how it spends, and where it sits in its lifecycle. The books hold it all together because accurate financials are what every tax position, investor request, and diligence package ultimately rests on.

The team standards and systems I built are what let Kruze serve more than 2,000 startups, 20 of them now unicorns. I have not personally handled every engagement, but every one of them ran on the accuracy bar and the process I set for this firm.

Working exclusively with venture-backed startups means we see the same patterns and pressure points surface across hundreds of companies. That concentration of experience is what lets us advise founders on what is coming, not just what has already gone wrong. The startup landscape and the diligence process that comes with it are constantly evolving, and the firms that serve this market well are the ones with enough repetitions to keep pace with it.

To keep our team and clients ahead, I prioritize integrating modern financial technologies and implementing internal AI workflows. This tech-driven methodology delivers the highly efficient financial clarity that modern founders require.
